Games for learning

Most games are educational: through play, we learn to interact socially, take turns, and lose gracefully. Most games have elements of chance and probability. Gentle Hands games help us learn to control our bodies, developing fine motor skills and self-control. Word games develop vocabulary, spelling, and storytelling skills. Math games provide fun opportunities to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, telling time, geometry, and handling money. Strategy games help us learn to think and solve problems; other games provide an opportunity to learn geography; and a few develop teamwork. You probably already have some of these games. And you probably have other games that have educational value that you haven’t thought about before.
